Who We Are

Navoice operates the Navoice voice navigation platform and related websites and services (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use the Service, visit our sites, or otherwise interact with us in that context.

Overview

We collect limited information needed to run your account, deliver features, secure the platform, and meet commercial and operational obligations. We work with trusted third-party vendors for infrastructure, billing, and AI-powered processing; their own terms and policies also apply where they process data on our behalf.

Information We Collect

  • Account and contact: email address, authentication identifiers, and profile or organization details you provide.
  • Service configuration: project or application identifiers, API or publishable keys, feature settings, and similar metadata needed to operate integrations.
  • Usage and diagnostics: request volumes, feature usage, performance and reliability metrics, and technical or error logs that help us operate and improve the Service.
  • Billing-related data: information needed to manage subscriptions and payments (see Third Parties).
  • Communications: messages you send to us (for example, support requests) and related correspondence records.

Audio Data

Voice-related features may involve audio from end-user devices being transmitted to our systems and to integrated subprocessors (such as speech-to-text or AI services) for processing. Processing may involve temporary handling in memory, buffering, or short-lived technical logs as part of normal operation; practices can vary by component and by provider.

We do not use the Service to store end-user audio as a permanent archive or listening library for our customers. However, we do not guarantee that no transient or incidental copies exist during transmission or processing, and third-party providers apply their own retention, security, and privacy practices as described in their documentation. If you integrate Navoice into your product, you are responsible for providing any end-user notices or obtaining any consents required for your own use case.

How We Use Information

  • Provide, maintain, and secure the Service and your account
  • Authenticate users, enforce licenses, and prevent abuse or fraud
  • Measure usage, plan capacity, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability
  • Handle billing, invoices, and subscription lifecycle where applicable
  • Communicate with you about the Service, security, or policy updates
  • Comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and protect rights and safety
  • Analyze aggregated or de-identified data where appropriate to understand product trends (without using it to identify you as an individual in those contexts)

Data Retention

We retain personal and account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may retain certain records after closure where we have a legitimate need—for example, billing and tax records, dispute resolution, security logs, or compliance—based on the type of data and operational requirements. Retention periods for data processed by third parties are governed by those providers’ policies in addition to our agreements with them.

Data Security

We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we work to follow reasonable industry practices and to review and improve safeguards over time.

International Data Transfers

We and our service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from your own. Where transfers are required and applicable law expects additional safeguards, we rely on appropriate mechanisms offered by our providers or by contract, consistent with the requirements that apply to our situation.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, maintain user sessions, and improve performance. These technologies help us authenticate users, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used.

You may control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect functionality of the Service.

Third Parties

We use subprocessors that process data on our behalf or in connection with the Service. Depending on how you use Navoice, relevant categories include:

  • Supabase: authentication, application database, and related backend infrastructure. Supabase’s privacy and security documentation describes how they host and protect customer data.
  • Paddle: merchant of record and payment services for subscriptions and related billing flows. Paddle collects and processes billing, tax, and customer transaction data as described in Paddle’s terms and privacy materials.
  • AI providers: vendors that power speech, language, or other AI-assisted processing. Content or metadata sent to those services is subject to their policies and may be used according to your configuration and their product terms.

This list is illustrative; we may update vendors as the Service evolves. Each provider is responsible for its own processing practices and legal obligations, as applicable.

Navoice Chrome Extension

The Navoice Chrome Extension (the “Extension”) is an optional browser extension that is part of the Navoice platform. The current version of the Extension operates entirely locally within your browser as a Manifest V3 extension. Because it operates differently from other parts of the platform, this section describes the Extension’s specific data practices, which govern where they differ from the general descriptions elsewhere in this Policy.

The Extension does not communicate with Navoice servers. It does not use cookies, does not require or support user accounts or login, and does not use cloud storage. It does not collect telemetry, analytics, or advertising data, and it does not collect or retain your browsing history.

Scanning

The Extension scans only the currently active browser tab, and only after you explicitly click “Scan Website.” It does not scan pages automatically, run in the background, or crawl multiple pages or sites. Scanning is performed locally in your browser; there is no server-side scanning.

Speech Recognition

Voice input, where used, relies on the Chrome Web Speech API built into your browser. Depending on your browser’s implementation, speech recognition may be processed by Chrome/Google rather than by Navoice. Audio is not transmitted to Navoice servers, and Navoice does not record, store, or retain any audio.

Local Storage

The Extension temporarily stores navigation data using chrome.storage.session so a scan result can be reused while you continue browsing the same website. This temporary data is stored only in chrome.storage.session and is automatically discarded when the browser session ends or when the cached scan is no longer applicable (for example, when you navigate to a different website). No browsing history is created or retained.

Permissions

The Extension requests the minimum Chrome permissions needed to function:

  • activeTab — to access the content of the tab you are currently viewing, only when you interact with the Extension.
  • scripting — to read the page structure of the active tab so the Extension can identify navigable elements.
  • storage — to use chrome.storage.session for the temporary, session-scoped cache described above.

Navigation

The Extension is designed exclusively for safe website navigation. It performs only HTTP/HTTPS page navigation on your behalf and does not click arbitrary buttons, submit forms, complete purchases, delete content, or perform any other destructive or irreversible action.

Data Sharing

Navoice does not receive scanned page content, generated navigation specifications, or recognized speech from the Extension. Use of the Extension does not generate any data that Navoice collects, sells, or shares with third parties. Navoice does not use Extension data for advertising, profiling, or behavioral analysis.

If future versions of the Extension introduce optional cloud-based features or account integration, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those features become available.

Your Rights

Depending on where you are located, applicable privacy laws may grant you rights regarding personal information—such as requesting access, correction, or deletion; restricting or objecting to certain processing; or, where applicable, data portability or withdrawal of consent.

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond according to applicable law and our verification procedures. You may also have the right to raise concerns with a regulator in your region; we encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve your question directly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Service, our practices, or legal expectations. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Where appropriate, we will provide additional notice or seek consent according to applicable requirements.
